/// About COL Jazz

COL Jazz is a God inspired, relevant musical mix of the past present and future. The band integrates contemporary and standard songs with the history-rich tradition of jazz.

As part of the larger program known as the K.R.U.N.K. Movement, students in COL Jazz have an opportunity to explore their talents as engineers, equipment managers, and musicians at a professional level. To find out more about the K.R.U.N.K. Movement, click here.

/// How We Started

The COL Jazz band was established in 2000 by Tim Smith, Executive Director of Center Of Life, along with his two sons: Tim Jr. and Isaiah Smith. In the beginning the band was given a jump-start by two friends who just happened to be musicians. Cornelius Martin and Lewis (Doug) Ransaw believed in the work of COL Jazz and supported the group with their time, talent and equipment. Since then the band has expanded to include many musically inclined students.
