The Social Justice Resource Center hosted a conversation with Dr. Esohe Osai, an assistant professor at Pitt University, and COL’s CEO, Reverend Tim Smith, to learn more about Critical Race Theory.

 

Difficult Conversations: Anti-Hate Zoom Panel Discussion
How can parents and educators talk with children and teens about topics like the rise of white supremacy, police accountability, systemic racism, and other themes that we all encounter in the news and social media? And how can we engage with people we care about, perhaps in our own families, who have perspectives that may be very different from our own?

 

The Price of Freedom Panel Discussion
The panel discussion followed a live screening of the documentary 'The Price of Freedom.' The documentary provides an unflinching look at the gun violence epidemic in America and the role of the National Rifle Association. COL Founder, and CEO Tim Smith served as the moderator. Josh Fleitman, Western PA Manager of CeaseFirePA, and Geraldine Massey MS PRC, Community and Family Support Therapist for the Center for Victims, were featured panelists of the discussion.

 

Anti-Hate Panel Discussion
On March 15, 2021, Center of Life CEO Tim Smith moderated the Anti-Hate Panel Discussion. The purpose of the discussion was to learn about the political discord in this country, how to understand the right-wing extremism that proliferating, and how to communicate with people who have views very different from one’s own.
